Helpful Hints

1)Ask prices everywhere, some of the popular bars and restaurants are charging $6 US for a beer, whereas our price is $1.80 US or 18 pesos. There are hundreds OF great restaurants and bars that do not overcharge and will make your stay enjoyable. Ask FOR our recommendation.

2) Ask before getting into a cab. A cab from the airport to the north hotel zone costs between 180 to 250 pesos and there are no entrance taxes to pv.

3)I have heard more horror stories relating to the Men's Clubs than any other establishment. Should you go in one, ask the price and do not buy a drink for one of the ladies.

4)Puerto Vallarta is very safe, and the medical and dental care is great.

5)P.V. has its own water purification system, you can drink the water.

6)Try to pay in pesos, several major stores refuse US currency. Should you bring US or Cdn. currency, exchange to pesos as soon as possible.  coming from canada, you do not need to purchase $us dollars in order to exchange into pesos. the canadian dollar is highly accepted in puerto vallarta.  Travellers cheques are not widely accepted in stores or restaurants and all atms work fine down here.
