Mike, Sue, George, Danny,
Val & I (George from Holiday Inn) would like to thank you and your staff for a great time of hosting the Olympics. We are still talking about the great time at the gold medal hockey game with all our new found Canadian friends. We especially enjoyed the food and found the ribs, prime rib and the cheese burgers to be number one – we will be back next year to get further down the menu. Thanks again for the hospitality.
George & Val,
My wife and I stayed at an all inclusive near Blakes and fortunately for us we happened to stop in at Blakes and met Mike and Sue on the first day of our two weeks there. Mike was a savior to us first time PV tourists, showing us the layout of PV and what to do ,(and thankfully what not to do and waste our money on ). Sue is a artist with her food menu and they probably have one of the best chefs in PV. We have stayed at 5 star hotels and the food at Blake's was superior. Even though our hotel was all inclusive we probably ate at Blakes at least 7 or 8 times and we were always trying new dishes and never regretted any of the choices. I think another one of the best things that Blake's offered was CANADIAN SPORTS!!!!, not to be petty but there is only so much soccer that I can handle. One thing I will warn you about is that Mike likes to treat his friends, (and that is exactly what you feel like immediately after meeting him) to copious amounts of TEQUILA, and not the crappy stuff either, after tasting some of his preferences and having him tell us how and where to get it we ended up maxed out on our liquor allowance coming home....many many many hangovers. if you are in PV definitely take the time to find Blake's and introduce yourself to Mike and Sue, you will be welcomed and treated right

Hi, I'm a lurker basically, and utilize the forums to learn who what where and always have found all the info invaluable before a trip. Once again it worked and we enjoyed our trip, so this time, I'm going to contribute. We were wanting to catch the NCAA Final Four basketball games while on our trip, as our beloved UCONN Lady Huskies were in the final games, and I searched the forum, and came upon a comment for Blakes Sports Bar which is in front of the Cante Del Sol hotel, on the main drag. They didn't have the game, but as the owners are Canadian they had all the hockey you could find on their dish networks. On their business card they advertise Hamburgers, & Spaghetti, HOWEVER, that's such an understatement, it was way better than that, hubby and I had a fabulous seafood dinner, he a shrimp dish, and me a fresh sea bass with two shrimp on top. The owner shops daily for her food staples, and let me tell you it was fantastic meal. Two dinners, three cocktails each, $53.US, & all the hockey you can imagine, and great owners, and Chris our waiter was great. It was so good we even went back a second time to dine, Hubby had the spaghetti with Meat sauce that was awesome, and I had the shrimp dish this time even though we were staying AI @ GCP.
